Breast Pump Reviews

It’s time to get pumpin! That’s right, not all breast pumps are made equally and we looked for the highest reviewed with three things in mind: comfort, ease of use, and price.

First up on our list is the Haakaa Silicone Breast Pump. It sells for around $23 and because it’s not an electric pump, cleanup is a breeze. Using the device is also super simple as you simply attach it to the breast and let the pump do the rest. The smooth silicon makes it easy to mold and sits comfortably. This pump is especially good for moms on the go who like their pumping to be quite and discreet.

Our next contender is the Spectra Baby S2. This electric pump is super cute and pretty easy to manage. It’s lightweight at only two and a half pounds, it’s also pretty quite for an electric pump and much less expensive than many higher end pumps with all of the same great features. Retail price for the Spectra comes in at about $160, and it comes with two bottles, as well as all the equipment you’ll need to get you started. What’s nice about an electric pump is that you get a lot of nifty features such as an auto-timer and a massage mode that simulates the natural suck of a baby. The Spectra S2 also comes with a night light so you can pump whenever and wherever.

Last but not least, we have the Lansinoh Manual Breast Pump. This little guy is super comfortable and convenient. What’s nice about hand pumps is that you can control the speed, which is nice for first time moms who are trying to get used to everything. The ergonomic handle helps avoid fatigue. Because this pump isn’t electric you don’t have to be tied to an outlet when it’s time to pump. The price is pretty nice to at about $22-$32 dollars.

Breast pumps, like motherhood, is not a one-size-fits all. Some ladies swear by a simple pump, others don’t have any luck except with something more simple. The best way to find your fit is to try out several until you get to what works for you. Look at all of the features and decide what is important to you. If the pump doesn’t work out, don’t be discouraged! Move onto the next product until you find the one that fits.
