The Tigers’ Home Opener is this Thursday! If you have plans to see a Tigers game, be sure to check out our tips on how to have the best time!
- Get there early! Not only is it always a good idea to show up early when you have little ones in tow, but you also want to give yourself a chance to take advantage of all the great photo ops. Here are the best ones:
•The giant tiger in front of the main gate. This giant statue is a standard for visitors to the ballpark.
•Statues of Tiger legends Ty Cobb, Willie Horton, Charlie Gehringer, Hank Greenberg, Hal Newhourer and Al Kaline.
•Taking a picture with Ernie Harwell’s statue has quickly become a tradition.
•If you can catch him, PAWS, the Tigers mascot will pose for photos with you.
2. If you come for a Sunday game, stay after the game to let your kids run the bases.
3. Get your face painted like a tiger on Sunday.
4. Comerica recently added a ton of new and unique foods to the standard stadium fare. Don’t miss the opportunity to get a souvenir helmet filled with Tigers themed ice-cream.
5. If this is your first time at a game, get your First Game Certificate at Guest Services.
6. Test your arm at the batting cage outside of Gate B, section 106.
7. Keep your eyes peeled for a chance to be a part of a wave!
8. Get a message on the scoreboard. You can order that here.
9. Take a ride on the Ferris Wheel outside of section 132 and the Carousel outside section 119. Rides are free for kids under 14 on Sundays.
10. Pick out a souvenir at any one of the many shops around the park.
