Creative writing is a wonderful activity for children, but just like any writer, they need some suggestions on what to write too. Here are some prompts that should help get the words flowing.

- What is your earliest memory?
- Describe a time when you did something brave.
- If you could visit the moon, what would you find there?
- Write out an entire schedule for your perfect day.
- Make your own holiday. What’s it about? How do you celebrate?
- Talk about your favorite meal. How do you make it?
- Talk about how old you were four years ago. What can you do now, that you couldn’t then?
- If you were shrunk down what would you do? What if you were blown up?
- Write about yourself as an adult. What would you do?
- Describe a time you’ve won something. How did you win and how did you feel after?

- Invent a sandwich. What’s on it and what is it called.
- Write a new adventure for your favorite tv show or movie character.
- One day you wake up to find a dinosaur egg in your bed. What does it hatch into? What do you do with it?
- Describe your dream house.
